Europe is facing profound geopolitical, democratic and societal challenges.

Yet this is not only a moment of challenge. It is also a moment of opportunity.

I am running for ALDE Vice President because I believe liberals must offer a positive and forward-looking vision for Europe: one rooted in freedom, democracy, cooperation and progress.

I believe that by working together, we can strengthen our member parties, strengthen democracy and strengthen our liberal family across Europe and beyond.

A confident liberal Europe

I believe Europe remains one of humanity’s greatest achievements: a community built on freedom, democracy, peace and cooperation.

Europe should not approach the future with fear.

Europe should approach the future with confidence.

Together, we can build a Europe that leads in:

Europe needs leaders who are prepared to defend freedom, democracy and the rule of law.
Leadership means making difficult choices and standing up for our values.

Progress happens when people work together.
Throughout my career, I have worked to connect people, institutions and countries.
I believe ALDE’s diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

Confidence
Liberals should not only respond to challenges.
We should inspire people with what is possible.
Politics should create confidence, inspire action and help people believe that positive change is achievable.

Strong liberal parties are essential for a strong Europe.
In a time when illiberal forces are increasingly organised across borders, liberals must be equally ambitious in strengthening cooperation.
