Starting a life in Nijmegen is unfortunately not easy right now. Finding a room is difficult, rents are too high, and many homes are poorly insulated. That’s bad for both your wallet and your health. These issues are at stake in the local elections on March 18. Where you, as an international student, can also vote.
D66 wants every student to have the chance to build a life in Nijmegen. That is why we are building thousands of affordable student rooms, tackling bad rental practices, creating well-lit, safe, and fast cycling routes across the city, and providing more space for nightlife, even outside the city centre. We believe the campus should be a place where you can do more than just study.
Over the past four years, I have worked hard on this as one of the few students on the city council. Now, as the lead candidate for D66 Nijmegen, I want to continue doing so. So that Nijmegen remains a city where you don’t have to fight for housing, but are given the space to live.
Vote D66 on March 18.

Our plan voor Nijmegen’s students
Nijmegen is growing and buzzing with energy. You notice it every day as a student: on campus, in the city centre, and during nights out. More and more young people are coming here to study, live, and build their futures. It is this constant influx of ideas, ambition, and creativity that gives Nijmegen its vibrant character.
