D66 is op zoek naar een enthousiaste kandidaat om de functie van Social Media & Communications officer te vervullen bij de Renew Europe-fractie in het Europees Parlement. Renew Europe verenigt de liberale krachten uit heel Europa in één politieke fractie, met een fractiebestuur en een multinationale ondersteunende staf. Indien geselecteerd zul je in die staf komen te werken, binnen de afdeling pers en communicatie.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Social Media & Communications Officer to join our forces in Brussels. You will help bring Renew Europe’s work to life online by creating engaging content, managing its channels, and making sure our liberal message reaches audiences across Europe.

Your role

You translate our communication strategy into concrete and creative execution, with a strong focus on social media. You will make sure our political work and priorities are visible, accessible, and engaging for a wide audience.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating and managing daily social media content (text, photo, video, graphics, editing).
  • Developing creative campaigns and formats that boost reach and engagement.
  • Preparing briefing notes and presentations for social media appearances.
  • Supporting press relations in close coordination with senior communication advisers.
  • Monitoring trends, engagement, and performance across platforms.

What you bring

  • Preferably a degree in communications, journalism, political science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in content creation and social media management, ideally but not necessarily in a political or non-profit environment.
  • Strong writing and editing skills in English (C2 level); fluent Dutch; French, or another EU language is an asset.
  • Ability to explain complex political issues in clear, accessible, and engaging language.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and a hands-on mentality.
  • Affinity with liberal, pro-European values.
  • Familiarity with the work and processes of the European Parliament is a plus.
