Our 3 key issues

In the upcoming election, these are our key issues.

Accessible education
for everyone

A large part of young people leave Zeeland after they finish secondary school to study in bigger cities and never return. We find it important that good and diverse education is accessible here in Zeeland, from preschool all the way up to university. We want the province to start investing heavily in education, not only to keep young people here but also attract young people from outside the province to live and work in Zeeland.

A clean and
sustainable Zeeland

PFAS, a highly toxic chemical, pollutes our water. Together with microplastics it impacts the overall health of the people of Zeeland. That’s why we want to stand up against polluters in and outside Zeeland. We also want to act against climate change to prevent even higher temperatures and sea-level rises. Climate change is also having a negative toll on biodiversity in Zeeland. That’s why we want to reduce the use of fossil fuels, clean our water by not allowing corporations to dump their waste in our water systems and invest 1% of provincial revenue in restoring biodiversity.

Affordable housing for all

D66 wants to assure that affordable housing is accessible to everyone, that’s why we want to build an additional 30.000 houses before 2030. We also want every new house to be built in a sustainable way and that the house has no carbon footprint. We´re also going to invest in isolation, especially in older houses.
