What D66 Leiden wants:

    Investing heavily in biotech, life sciences & health, and other innovative sectors. Leiden is continuing to develop as an international knowledge hub.
  • Space for entrepreneurs.
    Start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and freelancers are given space and support. The municipality ensures clear regulations, fast service, and space in suitable locations.
  • More practical and technical education.
    Education and the labour market are better aligned through internships, work-study programmes and practical education, so that young people can immediately start working in sectors such as healthcare, technology and ICT.
  • Green and digital economy.
    Circular initiatives, sustainable business parks, and smart digital solutions in mobility, healthcare, and energy are being supported. The municipality is leading by example.
  • Improved accessibility to Leiden.
    We are committed to light rail, a strong cycling network, and sustainable mobility. Leiden must be easily accessible by public transport, bicycle, and for people with disabilities.
