What D66 Leiden wants:
- 10+ new, green neighborhoods.
In the Leiden region we will build 11,000 additional homes over the next seven years and will collaborate with surrounding municipalities to realize approximately 30,000 homes throughout the region. - Affordable housing for all Leiden residents.
A mix of social housing, mid-range rentals, and affordable homes for sale. Additional opportunities for first-time buyers, students, young families, seniors, and essential workers such as teachers, healthcare workers, and police officers. - Complete urban neighborhoods
We only build new homes with amenities: schools, a doctor, sports facilities, shops, public transport, green areas and playgrounds within walking distance. - Emergency housing and shelters:
More emergency housing for people in urgent need of a place to sleep (due to divorce, domestic violence, or relocation). In winter and summer, there are sufficient free overnight shelters with meals for homeless people: begging for a place to sleep is inhumane. - We don’t leave anyone behind
We combat homelessness with debt prevention, budget coaching and good residential care places for people with complex problems such as addiction or misunderstood behavior.
