Drie zware stormen die in de afgelopen periode over onze provincie zijn geraasd. de top-3 zwaarste stormen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nu.nl\/storm-eunice\/6185426\/eunice-in-top-drie-zwaarste-stormen-afgelopen-vijftig-jaar-in-nederland.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ooit gemeten<\/a> sinds 1970. Reden om voor onze provincie code rood af te geven. Hiermee wilden ze zich tegen de storm en mogelijk het hoge water beschermen. Dit is begrijpelijk, maar op deze manier gaat het ten koste van de bescherming van anderen. Een groot deel van de provincie en zeker het kustgebied is gebaat bij de bescherming die het duingebied geeft. Wanneer er grote hoeveelheden zand uit worden gehaald, verzwakt dit de duinen.
