Veel mensen zijn op zoek naar een passende woning. Wie in aanmerking komt voor sociale huur via een woningcorporatie sluit vaak achteraan in de rij. Een rij die kan oplopen tot enkele honderden of duizenden mensen die wachten. Niet kunnen wonen waar je wilt is stilstand. block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tWij vinden het belangrijk dat gebouwd gaat worden naar de vraag. Op dit moment staan mensen jaren op de wachtlijst voor ze in aanmerking komen voor een eigen huis, en dat is veel te lang.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Om aan de vraag te voldoen moet de huurvoorraad in iedere gemeente tenminste 30% zijn. In Zuid-Holland zijn er gemeenten die boven dat percentage zitten zoals Vlaardingen en Rotterdam met bijna 50% sociale huur. Er zijn echter ook gemeenten waar het aandeel sociale huurwoningen nog geen 20% is, zoals in bijvoorbeeld Lansingerland. Wij vinden het belangrijk dat iedereen kan wonen waar diegene zich thuis voelt. Zo wil D66 dat de provincie subsidies kan toekennen aan bouwprojecten met een groot aandeel sociale huur. Ook vinden we het belangrijk dat de zogenoemde \u2018Knelpuntenpot\u2019 (een pot waar gemeenten geld uit kunnen ontvangen bij lastig te financieren woningbouwprojecten) blijft bestaan, met de voorwaarde dat het geld gaat naar waar dat het hardst nodig is: sociale huurwoningen.
