Het onderzoek gaat in op de mogelijkheden voor het verbeteren van de verbinding tussen Noord-Nederland en de Randstad. Hierbij wordt een vergelijking gemaakt tussen het aanleggen van de Lelylijn en het investeren in reeds bestaande spoorverbindingen. Een nieuwe spoorlijn (de Lelylijn) zou tussen de 3,2 en 6,4 miljard euro moeten gaan kosten en is volgens eerste berekeningen kostendekkend te exploiteren, zo blijkt uit het onderzoek. Het kruist onder andere de kwetsbare natte veenweidegebieden Rottige Meenthe en Brandemeer.\u2019 Dat is voor hem onbespreekbaar. Eerder dat jaar, voor de zomer, besloot Ooststellingwerf dat ook al. Het hele noorden wil een hogere treinfrequentie tussen Zwolle &#8211; Groningen en Zwolle \u2013 Steenwijk \u2013 Wolvega \u2013 Heerenveen &#8211; Leeuwarden. Daarnaast moet knelpunt Zwolle \u2013 Meppel aangepakt worden. De Lelylijn biedt voor dat probleem een alternatief.<br>SP, D66, PvdA, CDA, VVD, ChristenUnie, JA21 en SGP hebben de aanleg van de Lelylijn opgenomen in het verkiezingsprogramma. CDA-woordvoerder Mustafa Amhaouch: \u2018De Lelylijn in combinatie met woningbouw zorgt voor een betere bereikbaarheid van het Noorden. Het levert een substanti\u00eble bijdrage aan vermindering van het woningtekort en draagt ook bij aan de toekomstige economische ontwikkeling van het Noorden.\u2019\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
