D66 in Provinciale Staten van Brabant heeft ernstige bedenkingen bij proefboringen naar schaliegas in deze regio. Onder aanvoering van D66 willen ook GroenLinks, Partij voor de Dieren, PvdA, CDA en SP dat eerst de risico\u2019s in beeld worden gebracht en dat tot die tijd bij de overheid wordt aangedrongen op uitstel van proefboringen. Ze bespreken het onderwerp vrijdag in een commissievergadering.<\/p>\n\n

Proefboringen<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Het Britse bedrijf Cuadrilla wil op locaties in Boxtel en Haaren met proefboringen onderzoek doen naar mogelijk permanente winning van schaliegas. De gemeente Boxtel heeft al een vergunning voor de proefboring gegeven.<\/p>\n\n

Chemicali\u00ebn<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Schaliegas is aardgas dat met een nieuwe methode te winnen is uit leisteenlagen in de ondergrond, op ruim 4 kilometer diepte. Er worden met hoge waterdruk scheurtjes gemaakt in het gesteente. Via de scheurtjes stroomt het gas naar de boorput. Cuadrilla heeft toegegeven dat aan het testwater chemicali\u00ebn worden toegevoegd.<\/p>\n\n

Actiegroep in Vught<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Haaren bestaat onder de lokale bevolking weerstand en ook de gemeente begint te twijfelen. Er is ook een actiegroep die een petitie gestart is. De actiegroep laat D66 Vught weten dat er binnenkort ook in Vught een actiegroep tegen schaliegas opgericht wordt. "Het is een misvatting dat de gevolgen slechts lokaal zijn. Als de gasboring succesvol is, komen er meer putten", aldus een van de initiatiefnemers van de petitie.<\/p>\n
