Ik groeide op in Noord Ierland gedurende de onrustige jaren zeventig. Bij terugkeer naar Nederland studeerde ik Geofysica aan de TU Delft wat me een basis gaf voor een internationaal loopbaan bij Shell. Ik heb met plezier mogen wonen en werken in het Europa, het Midden Oosten en Azi\u00eb waar ik uiteindelijk exploratie manager voor Shell in Brunei werd.<br>\u00a0<br>Door deze achtergrond werd ik steeds meer gegrepen door de uitdagingen van de energie transitie. Ik werk nu als zelfstandige energie expert en ben mede directeur van energie training bedrijf EPTS waarvoor ik ook cursussen heb ontwikkeld.<br>\u00a0<br>Ondanks de vele buitenlandse avonturen en de geboorte in het buitenland van alle drie inmiddels volwassen kinderen, voelden wij toch een drang naar de rust en ruimte dat Gemeente Voorst biedt. Ik ben er sterk van overtuigd dat Nederland een van de beste landen is om te wonen. Aangezien mijn oorspronkelijke familie wortels in het Oosten van Nederland liggen voelen we ons daarom erg thuis in Klarenbeek waar we sinds 2024 wonen.<br>\u00a0<br>De buitenlands jaren hebben mij gevormd en de kracht van culturele diversiteit geleerd. Ik sta bekend als iemand die partijen kan verbinden ongeacht ras of cultuur. Ik wordt sterk gemotiveerd door het ontwikkelen van lokale talent en leiderschap en het resulterende samenwerken.
