Tegelijkertijd staan woningen, winkels en andere gebouwen soms jarenlang leeg. Dan is de vraag niet alleen of er nieuwe regels nodig zijn, maar ook of we de mogelijkheden die we nu al hebben wel goed benutten.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tDaarom hebben Erik van Buiten en Wim Cass\u00e9e, raadsleden D66 Utrechtse Heuvelrug, op 2 juli vragen gesteld over de aanpak van leegstand. Onze gemeente heeft al een leegstandverordening. Daarnaast werkt het Rijk aan nieuwe wetgeving en komen er waarschijnlijk extra mogelijkheden om langdurige leegstand aan te pakken. De vraag is hoe we al die instrumenten slim met elkaar kunnen verbinden.<br><br>Tijdens de vergadering noemde Wim het voorbeeld van Groot Bloemheuvel in Maarsbergen. Ooit een van de mooiste en meest beeldbepalende panden van het dorp: de parel van Maarsbergen. Jaren geleden is al een bouwvergunning afgegeven, maar het gebouw staat er nog steeds verloederd bij.<br><br>Juist zulke voorbeelden roepen de vraag op of we niet slimmer kunnen omgaan met bestaande mogelijkheden. Kunnen we leegstandsbeleid, vergunningen, vastgoedtoezicht, bouw- en woningtoezicht en nieuwe landelijke wetgeving beter op elkaar laten aansluiten? En kunnen we daardoor sneller zorgen dat gebouwen weer een functie krijgen?<br><br>Wij zijn blij dat het college werkt aan een plan van aanpak voor leegstand. Voor ons gaat het uiteindelijk niet om regels of procedures, maar om resultaat. Hoe zorgen we ervoor dat waardevolle gebouwen niet verder verloederen, maar weer bijdragen aan wonen, werken en leven in onze dorpen?
