Extreem weer, droogte en bosbranden waar steeds vaker direct de relatie gelegd wordt met het veranderende klimaat. Hier zijn afgelopen jaren erg goede stappen gezet om te versnellen. Voor de uitvoering van dit beleid zijn ondernemers, inwoners en overheden aanzet. Wat D66 Utrechtse Heuvelrug betreft nemen we als gemeente initiatief en gaan we versnellen. Veel inwoners, ondernemers en sportverenigingen in onze gemeente hebben plannen en idee\u00ebn. Het is een mooi programma met een groot aantal concrete projecten voor verduurzaming van onze woningen, bedrijven en mobiliteit. Het is ook een integraal beleid waar zaken als circulariteit en koppelkansen met bijvoorbeeld verbetering van biodiversiteit worden meegenomen. Het gaat om meer dan CO2. Dit is ook hard nodig want in de voorgaande klimaat routekaart werd duidelijk dat 26% van de projecten uiteindelijk niet of niet geheel zijn uitgevoerd. Daarnaast vroegen we het college om meer concreet meetbare resultaten. Alleen BVH en SGP steunde het amendement niet. Wel werd duidelijk dat een aantal partijen continue het minimale willen doen wat betreft klimaat en duurzaamheid. Zo betoogde het CDA dat we doordat de bomen in ons Nationaalpark CO2 opnemen we minder hoeven te doen en de VVD was niet voor het overprogrammeren ondanks de praktijk uitwijst dat projecten altijd langer duren dan op voorhand ingeschat.
