Het college van B en W heeft tevens melding van de registratie gemaakt bij het College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens. <strong>Het college beantwoordde schriftelijke vragen die gesteld waren door vrijwilligheid gewaarborgd wordt bij deze registratie. Dit is bij de registratie van kentekens gelukkig het geval. Dit is momenteel een actueel onderwerp nu de minister Opstelten (Veiligheid en Justitie) een wetswijziging wil doorvoeren die opslag van kentekens mogelijk maakt waarbij het ingezet mag worden bij opsporingen.
