De uitvoering van deze wet komt vooral bij de gemeentes te liggen. Het voorstel houdt in dat mensen die illegaal in Nederland zijn een overtreding begaan. D66 vindt dat dit wetsvoorstel in strijd is met fundamentele mensenrechten en zet vraagtekens bij de uitvoerbaarheid. D66-raadslid Selma Bas: &#8216;Dit voorstel zal illegalen niet afschrikken, maar leiden tot gedragsveranderingen. Kinderen worden van school gehaald en de huisarts wordt vermeden. paragraph__align--left paragraph__color--black paragraph__size--default   block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tIn het regeerakkoord van PvdA-VVD is afgesproken dat illegaal verblijf strafbaar gesteld moet worden. Op 14 januari is daartoe een wetsvoorstel ingediend. De gemeente Utrecht heeft wel altijd noodopvang aan illegalen verleend. D66 wilde daarom graag weten hoe het College tegen het nieuwe wetsvoorstel aankijkt.<br><br>Onder de nieuwe wet kunnen mensen die illegaal in Nederland verblijven een geldboete krijgen van maximaal 3900 euro. Als de boete niet wordt betaald, is een gevangenisstraf mogelijk.
