Ook\u00a0 werd duidelijk dat het Hoogheemraadschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht de huurcontracten met de eigenaren van de boten aan het Zandpad heeft ontbonden. In de nieuwe zone komen maximaal 162 werkplekken. Exploitanten mogen maximaal nog maar 20% van de werkruimten huren. D66-raadslid Selma Bas: &#8216;Met het aanwijzen van een nieuwe locatie en aangescherpte vergunningsvereisten is de gemeente op de goede weg om een schone doorstart te maken met raamprostitutie in Utrecht. Het waterschap heeft de verhuur van ligplaatsen aan de eigenaren van de boten stopgezet. Prostituees hoeven hierdoor geen werkruimte meer te huren van voormalige exploitanten die tegelijkertijd verdacht worden van mensenhandel. Deze exploitanten raakten in juli hun vergunning kwijt vanwege aanwijzingen voor betrokkenheid bij mensenhandel. Bas: &#8216;D66 heeft er sinds juli al voor gepleit de eigenaren van de boten aan het Zandpad buitenspel te zetten. Mogelijk duurt dit nog langer. Bas: &#8216;D66 wil dat raamprostitutie ook tijdens deze periode mogelijk blijft. De burgemeester heeft eerder al toegezegd dat De Macha\u2019s, de co\u00f6peratie van prostituees, tijdelijk een extra boot mogen aanmeren aan het Zandpad.
