Daarnaast is er ook nog eens 35 miljoen euro aan mediawaarde gerealiseerd, bijvoorbeeld door nationale en internationale verslaggeving. Jony Ferket: \u201cDe Tour de France is het grootste sportevenement ter wereld. Je kon in heel Europa en ver daarbuiten geen krant openslaan, tv aanzetten of nieuwsapp openen zonder Utrecht tegen te komen. Dit tekort wordt onder meer veroorzaakt door de extra hittemaatregelen die het college genomen heeft om de gezondheid van de bezoekers te garanderen. Dat waren onvoorziene omstandigheden. Ook vielen de inkomsten uit parkeren lager uit dan verwacht. Jony Ferket: \u201cHet is natuurlijk eigenlijk geweldig dat bij het grootste fietsevenement ter wereld iedereen de auto thuis laat staan.
