In de vrije ruimte, waar ge\u00ebxperimenteerd kan worden, ligt \u00f3\u00f3k het verhaal van onze stad. Raadslid Has Bakker: \u201cHet gaat erom dat we vrije ruimte behouden voor initiatieven die bijdragen aan onze identiteit. Denk aan plekken zoals de Nijverheid of het Hof van Cartesius.\u201d D66 verzet zich tegen een te zeer aangeharkte stad. Bij herontwikkeling van gebieden moet plek blijven voor dit soort initiatieven met een grote maatschappelijke waarde.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper D66 wil een stad met voldoende ruimte om te leven, sporten en elkaar te ontmoeten. Maar een stad die groeit heeft ook lucht en vrije ruimte nodig. D66 maakt zich zorgen over de neiging van politieke partijen in Utrecht om de stad \u2018aan te harken\u2019. Has Bakker: \u201cNatuurlijk groeit de stad en moet ruimte effici\u00ebnt worden ingericht. Maar laten we niet vergeten hoe belangrijk rafelranden zijn voor Utrecht. D66 ziet een rol voor medebeheer of zelfbeheer door inwoners bij het op peil houden van maatschappelijke voorzieningen. Has Bakker: \u201cDenk bijvoorbeeld aan Sporthal Lunetten. Daar wordt enorm veel eigenaarschap gevoeld door de gebruikers. Inwoners hebben zelf vaak de beste idee\u00ebn over dit soort voorzieningen.
