In de eerste fase Milieu Effect Rapportage (MER) van de Planstudie is gekozen voor het uitwerken van de Oost-variant. Raadslid Bram Fokke: &#8220;D66 ziet liever dat er ge\u00efnvesteerd wordt in volwaardige alternatieven en niet alleen in asfalt. block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tVeel bewoners maken zich terecht zorgen over de aantasting van de luchtkwaliteit en de geluidsoverlast. D66 heeft dan ook hard ingezet op de leefbaarheid rondom de snelwegen. De omgevingsdoelstellingen moeten meegenomen worden in de 2e fase van de MER om inzichtelijk te kunnen maken hoe alle varianten de kwaliteit van de leefomgeving verbeteren.<br><br>Maar er zijn meer aspecten waardoor de leefbaarheid aanzienlijk verbeterd kan worden in de Oost-variant. Een verbreding zou onherstelbare schade aanbrengen in dit unieke rivierbos en het verbreden van de bak is een enorme technische uitdaging die gepaard gaat met grote kosten en risico\u2019s. Hij zal inzetten op een brede vorm van mobiliteit en een nul-meting.
