De Bleshof in Tilburg, is zo&#8217;n koloniale &#8216;herinnering&#8217;. De Bleshof, gelegen aan de achterzijde van de Schouwburgpromenade is, ligt er echter treurig bij. D66 <a href=\"https:\/\/tilburg.raadsinformatie.nl\/document\/12888075\/1\/D66+-+Art_+41+-+De+Bleshof+Sporen+van+het+koloniaal+verleden+en+heden+in+Tilburg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">roept<\/a> het college daarom op, om het straatje een opknapbeurt te geven en te voorzien van historische duiding. \t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n noopener\">slavernijverleden<\/a> maakte de de fractie van D66 onlangs de stadswandeling \u2018Sporen van het koloniaal verleden\u2019 in Tilburg. Het straatje dat sinds 1983 bestaat, werd vernoemd naar de welgestelde en invloedrijke familie Bles. Deze familie was in de 18e eeuw eigenaar van panden in de omgeving van het huidige Bleshof, maar was ook direct verbonden met het koloniaal verleden van Tilburg. Deze plantage telde in 1771 zo&#8217;n 155 slaafgemaakten. Hoewel Cornelis Bles en zijn vrouw in Tilburg woonden, waren zij wel &#8216;slavenhouders&#8217;. Ook had het  echtpaar Bles een Afro-Surinaamse slaafgemaakte in dienst, waarvan de naam w\u00e9l bekend is: Johannes Pauli. Sterker nog: het straatje ligt er vervallen en troosteloos bij. Wel zien we iets verderop de kapel &#8216;Onze Lieve Vrouw ter Nood\u2019. Deze witte kapel is neergezet om Maria te bedanken voor het redelijk ongeschonden uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog komen van onze stad. De Tweede Wereldoorlog kent een zeer actieve herinneringscultuur, terwijl dit niet voor het koloniale verleden geldt.
