Sinds 2019 wordt deze medicatie als pilot door de GGD Hart van Brabant verstrekt aan mensen met een hoog risico op een hiv-infectie. Op dit moment krijgen 8500 inwoners deze pil, maar de vraag is vele malen hoger dan het aanbod. \u201cInmiddels heeft de GGD de wachtlijsten gesloten omdat de vraag naar dit middel zo ontzettend groot block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tDe PrEP-pil wordt nu als pilot verstrekt door de GGD, maar in 2022 is in de Tweede Kamer al een motie van D66 en Groenlinks aangenomen, om te onderzoeken of het middel onderdeel kan worden van de reguliere zorg. Daarom roept D66 Tilburg samen met een flink aantal mede-indieners, het college in een <a href=\"https:\/\/tilburg.raadsinformatie.nl\/document\/12501469\/7\/Motie+17-1_D66_GL_50PLUS_LT_PvdA_PvdD_OT_VVD_Inzet+voor+beschikbaarheid+PrEP+medicatie+in+reguliere+zorg\">motie <\/a>op om het Rijk aan te sporen deze medicatie onderdeel te maken van de reguliere zorg. Mocht dit na de zomer nog niet het geval zijn dan vragen de Tilburgse partijen om te onderzoeken of het mogelijk is om de pilot in Tilburg uit te breiden. Het bestuursakkoord <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raadtilburg.nl\/gemeenteraad-stemt-in-met-akkoord-gemeente-tilburg-2022-2026-meer-voor-elkaar__trashed\/\">Meer voor elkaar <\/a>zet bovendien in op inclusieve gezondheidszorg en preventie. De Kadernota GGD waarop de motie betrekking had sluit daar goed bij aan. \u201cDoor de inzet van onze wethouder en de D66 is dit een stuk over positieve gezondheid.
