Eindelijk! De lange aanlooptijd naar dit moment leek wel een soap. Er is inmiddels zoveel gebeurd dat het resultaat er mag zijn. Vier jaar geleden was het raadsvoorstel voor deze raad een brug te ver en het voorstel dat er nu ligt voldoet alle gestelde eisen in de raad. Dat draait om het belang van wilskracht en doorzettingsvermogen. Dat is precies hetgeen dat in dit proces gespeeld heeft en dat de raad van D66 en mag verwachten komende tijd. Door te luisteren naar de inbreng van elke partij werken we samen aan de beste plannen voor Steenwijkerland. En als je dan die kans hebt als raad moet je met visie vooruit kijken. Niet op de korte termijn kijken naar de kosten, maar juist hoe je je voorzieningen in de gemeente in de toekomst wil hebben. De kruisbestuiving tussen de verschillende disciplines en een sterke vorm van Techniek Onderwijs zijn daar voorbeelden van.<br>Het is knap dat er een voorstel ligt waar de kaasschaaf overheen gehaald is en een gedragen plan ligt. Maar is elk schaafsel wel zo verstandig? <br><br>Een oppervlakte van 5 leslokalen wordt geschrapt en wat zijn hier de kosten van geweest, slechts \u20ac40.000 aan kapitaallasten. Wederom, het is veel geld, maar als investering op zo\u2019n bedrag minimaal. We hoorden het net in de vorige discussie: ruim 1700 woningen komen erbij in de gemeente.
