\u2018Geldstelstel\u2019,\u2019<br>\u00a0<br>In een open brief \u2013 gepubliceerd in de Financial Times van 11 januari 2026 \u2013 aan de leden van het Europees Parlement maken zeventig academici zich hard voor de invoering van een robuuste digitale euro, een aanvullende vorm van publiek geld.<br>\u00a0<br>In de open brief staan de volgende drie doelstellingen (in Engels geformuleerd) centraal voor de in te voeren digitale Euro als aanvullende vorm van publiek geld:<br><em>The backbone of a sovereign, resilient European payment infrastructure based on domestic providers adopting the highest privacy standards.<\/em><br><em>A public digital money accessible to all Europeans, supporting financial inclusion and reducing cross-border frictions.<\/em><br><em>A credible store of value through a
