We bouwen aan nieuwe woningen, aan levendige buurten en aan een stad waar iedereen fijn kan wonen, werken en ontspannen. Maar in die groeiende stad is ruimte kostbaar. We willen plek voor groen, voor spelende kinderen, voor brede stoepen en gezellige terrassen.<br><br>Toch wordt veel van die ruimte nu ingenomen door stilstaande auto\u2019s \u2014 die gemiddeld wel 90% van de tijd niet rijden. D66 Rotterdam vindt dat het anders kan \u00e9n moet. Met dit plan maken we de overstap naar een nieuwe manier van denken over parkeren. We bouwen wijkparkeergarages, zodat bewoners hun auto dichtbij kunnen parkeren, maar de straten zelf weer ruimte bieden aan wat \u00e9cht waarde toevoegt: groen, woningen, speelplekken en levendige ontmoetingsplekken.<br><br>\u201cAlle ruimte die onder een stilstaande auto verdwijnt kunnen we slimmer gebruiken om Rotterdam mooier, groener en gezelliger te maken,\u201d zegt Tim de Haan. \u201cMet dit plan geven we de straat terug aan de Rotterdammer.\u201d<br><br>Het mooie is: de voorzieningen zijn er vaak al. Veel parkeergarages staan \u2019s avonds en \u2019s nachts halfleeg, terwijl er in woonwijken juist veel parkeerdruk is. Door slimme tarieven, betere toegankelijkheid en nieuwe wijkgarages kunnen we dat veel beter organiseren.<br><br>Zo cre\u00ebren we een win-winsituatie:<br><br>&#8211; Bewoners houden de mogelijkheid om dichtbij huis te parkeren;<br>&#8211; De straten worden groener, veiliger en gezelliger;<br>&#8211; En Rotterdam wordt een stad die haar ruimte gebruikt voor mensen, niet voor stilstaande auto\u2019s.<br><br>Rotterdam staat voor een keuze. Kiezen we voor meer asfalt en blik, of voor meer groen en leefbaarheid?
