Vandaag presenteren we daarom het ambitiedocument Rotterdamse AI-Zone, een plan om bedrijven, onderzoekers en talent samen te brengen in een speciale zone waar AI-innovatie wordt gestimuleerd. Hier krijgen streng geselecteerde AI-bedrijven de ruimte om te experimenteren met minder strenge regels. Fractievoorzitter Agnes Maassen \u201cEuropa moet nu in actie komen, zodat we niet afhankelijk blijven van grootmachten als de Verenigde Staten en China. De VS en China investeren miljarden in AI, terwijl Europa dreigt achter te blijven. President Trump kondigde een AI-investering van 500 miljard dollar aan, China introduceerde DeepSeek en Poetin sloot een AI-alliantie met de BRICS-landen. Mario Draghi, voormalig president van de Europese Centrale Bank, waarschuwde al voor de groeiende achterstand van Europa op technologisch gebied. Volgens hem is innovatie essentieel om onze economie en concurrentiepositie te versterken.<br><br>Om Rotterdam klaar te maken voor de toekomst, is een zone nodig waar AI-bedrijven en onderzoekers nieuwe technologie\u00ebn kunnen testen en ontwikkelen. Goede infrastructuur en toegang tot rekenkracht, zoals de quantumcomputing-innovaties van de TU Delft, zijn daarbij essentieel. Europese subsidies kunnen helpen om start-ups en AI-onderzoek te financieren.<br><br>De ambitie voor een Rotterdamse A.I. zone is de start van een gesprek. Wij zijn geen AI-experts en weten nog onvoldoende wat talenten en ondernemers nodig hebben om aan de slag te kunnen. Daarom willen we graag in gesprek met de mensen die hier echt verstand van hebben.
