D66 is zeer terughoudend met het middel, daarom blijven we kritisch kijken naar de inzet. In de raad van 11 mei hebben we daarom een motie ingediend waarin we voortaan ge\u00efnformeerd worden waarom een veiligheidsrisicogebied wordt vastgesteld of verlengd; dat is een gebied waar dan preventief kan worden gefouilleerd. Daarnaast heeft de Burgemeester naar aanleiding van vragen van D66 belooft bewoners met een brief te informeren hierover. Daardoor weten bewoners ook dat preventief fouilleren in hun wijk kan plaatsvinden. \u201cZo houden we grip op en transparantie over preventief fouilleren\u201d, aldus fractievoorzitter Agnes is het fouilleren van personen in een gebied dat de burgemeester aanwijst: een veiligheidsrisicogebied. Zo\u2019n gebied wordt aangewezen na overleg met de driehoek (hoofdofficier van justitie, de korpschef van de politie en de burgemeester). Wanneer er bijvoorbeeld sprake is van bedreiging, of geweld met gebruik van wapens. Na een bevel van de officier van justitie mag de politie in die gebieden aselect auto\u2019s en kleding onderzoeken. Daarnaast wordt er bij vaststelling van een veiligheidsrisicogebied een toelichting gestuurd naar de raad over waarom de noodzaak tot aanwijzing van de veiligheidsrisicogebieden in kwestie nodig is of blijft &#8211; hetgeen wat preventief fouilleren mogelijk maakt &#8211; met hierin aandacht voor het subsidiariteitsbeginsel en objectieve- en subjectieve veiligheid. Het aanwijzen van een veiligheidsrisicogebied is ook een zwaar instrument, waarbij de actuele onderbouwing stevig dient te zijn.
