Oneerlijk, in de ogen van D66. block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tHet Leger des Heils is een boegbeeld in de Rotterdamse samenleving. Voor veel mensen is deze maatschappelijke organisatie d\u00e9 helpende hand die zij nodig hebben. Onze fractie onderkent dan ook dat het Leger des Heils voor veel mensen een vitale functie heeft. Daar zijn we blij mee. Maar, het is ook de taak van politici om kritisch te kijken naar de organisaties waarmee de gemeente samenwerkt en waar gemeenschapsgeld aan wordt uitgegeven. Dat doet niet af aan het werk wat het Leger verricht, we zijn het alleen niet eens met het gevoerde personeelsbeleid. In alle vacatureteksten voor betaalde banen bij deze organisatie wordt van (toekomstige) medewerkers expliciet vereist dat zij zich als christen identificeren en kunnen toelichten wat dit voor hen betekent. D66 Rotterdam is van mening dat dit een vorm van onwenselijke discriminatie is. In de Algemene Wet Gelijke Behandeling (AWGB) staat dat op grond van godsdienst en levensovertuiging louter onderscheid mag worden gemaakt indien dit onderscheid wezenlijk, legitiem en gerechtvaardigd is voor het werk van de organisatie.
