Zij stelden daarin voor om de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.renkum.nl\/Inwoners\/Belastingen\/Hondenbelasting\">hondenbelasting<\/a> af te schaffen. Tijdens de Algemene Ledenvergadering voor het vaststellen van het <a href=\"https:\/\/d66.nl\/renkum\/verkiezingsprogramma\/\">Verkiezingsprogramma<\/a> stemde een nipte meerderheid van de aanwezige D66-leden tegen de afschaffing van de hondenbelasting. Er zijn verschillende argumenten die pleiten voor de afschaffing van de hondenbelasting. Ten eerste is de hondenbelasting ooit ingevoerd om de overlast van zwerfhonden tegen te gaan; de hondenbelasting is dan ook ouderwets. Ten tweede zijn er meer huisdieren die overlast veroorzaken in de algemene ruimte, zoals katten, waar geen belasting voor wordt ge\u00efnd. Ten derde is de opbrengst van de hondenbelasting groter dan de uitgaven die de gemeente doet voor honden. Dit zijn allemaal plausibele redenen om de hondenbelasting per direct af te schaffen. Tegenover al deze argumenten staat dat hondenpoep grote ergernis veroorzaakt in de openbare ruimte. De zorg bestaat dat met de afschaffing van hondenbelasting de overlast door hondenpoep toeneemt. Hoewel de fractie van D66 Renkum voor het op termijn afschaffen van de hondenbelasting is, heeft zij niet ingestemd met het amendement gestemd vanwege de timing ervan. Tijdens de raadsvergadering kon niet<br>worden overzien welke gevolgen dit amendement heeft voor de begroting. De hondenbelasting is een inkomensbron voor de gemeente en de zakjes en bakken voor het opruimen van de hondenpoep wordt hiervan betaalt. Op dit moment is het onduidelijk waar de gemeente geld vrij gaat maken om deze kosten te kunnen dragen. Wij hadden liever de afweging gemaakt om de hondenbelasting af te schaffen tijdens de begrotingsbehandeling.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper
