De gemeenteraad stelde eind 2023 vast dat sprake is van disproportionele overlast. Daarna volgden opnieuw onderzoek en monitoring. Inmiddels zijn twee volledige groeiseizoenen verstreken. D66 Meierijstad vindt dat het tijd is voor duidelijkheid en vooral voor een oplossing.<br><br>In 2024 werd een vergunning verleend om een deel van de bomen te vervangen. Na bezwaren besloot het college deze vergunning alsnog in te trekken en nader onderzoek te doen. Het college gaf daarbij aan te willen komen tot een duurzame, definitieve oplossing voor de Deken Baekersstraat.<br><br>Vooral de luizenoverlast moest volgens het college minimaal twee groeiseizoenen worden gevolgd. Die periode is inmiddels voorbij. D66 heeft opnieuw met bewoners gesproken. Zij geven aan dat de overlast niet is verminderd, maar juist erger is geworden en gedurende het hele groeiseizoen voor problemen zorgt.<br><br>D66 wil daarom weten waar de eerder aangekondigde duurzame, definitieve oplossing blijft. We vragen het college welke onderzoeken en metingen de afgelopen twee jaar zijn uitgevoerd, hoeveel meldingen er zijn binnengekomen en welke maatregelen daadwerkelijk zijn genomen. Ook willen we weten wat de monitoring heeft opgeleverd en of het college nog steeds vindt dat sprake is van disproportionele overlast.<br><br>Voor D66 Meierijstad is het belangrijk dat deze kwestie niet opnieuw wordt doorgeschoven. Bewoners leven al jaren met de gevolgen en hebben inmiddels opnieuw twee groeiseizoenen moeten wachten terwijl verder onderzoek werd gedaan.<br><br>D66 wil daarom dat v\u00f3\u00f3r het groeiseizoen van 2027 de duurzame, definitieve oplossing waar het college zelf over sprak, daadwerkelijk is uitgevoerd.
