Er is meer vraag naar water dan dat er binnenkomt via regen en rivieren. D66-raadslid Charlotte Bos: \u201cHet voorkomen van en aanpassen aan klimaatverandering is een van de grootste uitdagingen. We moeten onze gemeente goed weerbaar maken.\u201d Daarom heeft D66 vragen gesteld aan het college of Leidschendam-Voorburg bestand is tegen droogte, hitte en wateroverlast en pleit de fractie voor extremer weer is het voor onze inwoners van groot belang dat we ons goed voorbereiden op extreme neerslag, extreme droogte en extreme hitte. Dat betekent klimaatmitigatie (voorkomen klimaatverandering), klimaatadaptatie (aanpassen aan klimaatverandering) en biodiversiteitsherstel. D66 vindt dit van groot belang voor het welzijn van onze inwoners. D66 heeft daarom vragen aan het college gesteld naar droogte in onze gemeente en welke gevolgen dit mogelijk voor onze inwoners heeft. De fractie is ook benieuwd naar maatregelen op korte termijn om (verder) watertekort te voorkomen. Bos: \u2018Je wil niet alleen impact op de korte termijn maar natuurlijk ook op de langere termijn hebben.
