Voor het LUMC kan dat grote gevolgen hebben, het kan namelijk betekenen dat het Centrum Aangeboren Hartafwijkingen Leiden (CAHAL) moet sluiten. Initiatiefnemer Julia de Groot (D66): \u2018Dit is een grote ramp voor pati\u00ebnten, hun ouders en verzorgers, zorgmedewerkers, alle Leidenaren en zelfs het hele land\u2019.\t<\/p>\t block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tIn <a href=\"https:\/\/d66.nl\/leiden\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/116\/2022\/12\/Motie-VOD-CAHAL.pdf\">de motie van D66<\/a> die steun krijgt van de hele gemeenteraad is te lezen dat de Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit (NZa) waarschuwt voor het domino-effect bij het vertrek van de zorg voor pati\u00ebnten met een aangeboren hartafwijking in het LUMC. Het betreft onder andere het verdwijnen van de kinder-IC, waardoor er een tekort aan bedden komt en de aantrekkelijkheid van het LUMC voor studenten afneemt. Dit zorgt op lange termijn voor het verlies van de academische status van het LUMC. Hierdoor komen kwaliteit, capaciteit, innovatie, onderzoek en onderwijs in gevaar. Daarnaast wordt gewezen op de economische effecten. Ook wordt het college verzocht om in gesprek te gaan met minister Kuipers over de besluitvoering van de kinderhartcentra. De Groot: \u2018Ik hoop van harte dat wij samen met het college ervoor kunnen zorgen dat het CAHAL kan blijven bestaan.\u2019 Wethouder Fleur Spijker (D66) was duidelijk: \u2018Het verzoek van u in uw motie VOD wordt volledig door het college omarmt en is ook heel belangrijk\u2019. Op de vraag wat Spijker gaat doen om de sluiting van het CAHAL tegen te gaan, kon ze kort antwoorden: \u2018Alles.
