\n\t\t\n\t\tTerror, aggression, occupation, sexual violence, economic losses\u00a0are an ongoing reality affecting women and men in nearly every\u00a0armed conflict.\u00a0War in Europe brought many\u00a0topics to the surface, role of women is one of them.

Women affected by armed conflict are victims of gender-based violence, peace and reconstruction actors, and combatants or members of the\u00a0armed forces, volunteers or refugees.\u00a0These and other topics were discussed at the Young Women Forum 2022, organized in cooperation with the European Youth of Ukraine, NGO.\t<\/p>\t <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n \t

\n\t\t\n\t\tThe event was\u00a0designed\u00a0as a\u00a04-day study session that aims at empowering young women influenced by the armed conflicts of the 21st century in different parts of the world. The project helped to\u00a0build\u00a0the\u00a0network of\u00a024\u00a0young\u00a0female\u00a0change makers to support or create local initiatives on\u00a0topic of\u00a0gender equality and support of women at times of war.\u00a0

The uniqueness of the Forum is that it united\u00a0young females from MENA region and Europe. Among featured countries were\u00a0activists from Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Cyprus, Georgia and Ukraine.

\n\t\t\n\t\tDuring the event participants\u00a0had discussions with\u00a0such honored speakers as\u00a0Anne-Floor Dekker, Program manager Gender, Peace &\u00a0Security, WO=MEN Dutch Gender Platform;\u00a0lieutenant-colonel Elisabeth van der\u00a0Steenhoven, Dutch Ministry of Defense\u00a0and\u00a0MEP Samira Rafaela.\u00a0

Skill building workshops by the organizers and\u00a0Hoba\u00a0Gull, Policy Advisor to\u00a0Samira Rafaela\u00a0MEP, as well case studies\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Ukrainian women-led NGOs which help women in military, composed the\u00a0second part of the event.

As a result participants\u00a0shared\u00a0their experience, learned some new skills and presented their projects of\u00a05 initiatives in support of women who suffer from\u00a0the\u00a0armed conflicts.\t<\/p>\t <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n \t

\n\t\t\n\t\tPromotion of women equal participation in the armed forces, peace-making\u00a0processes;\u00a0full involvement in politics, peace and security structures;\u00a0refugee support;\u00a0contribution to\u00a0prosecution of war crimes\u00a0and generally\u00a0adequate\u00a0representation\u00a0at all levels of decision-making\u00a0must be strategic goals of national governments to prevent or resolve armed conflicts.\t<\/p>\t <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

\n\t\t\n\t\tI was lucky enough to become a participant of the Young Women’s Forum, which took place in Amsterdam from October 26 to 29.
The forum brought together strong, inspiring women from Europe and Asia. During these days, we discussed the problems faced by women during the war and ways to solve them. In this, we were helped by extraordinary professional women who had direct experience in these areas.

Also, I want to note how friendly and safe this forum was for all participants, especially for those who have faced war and violence.
The organization of the event by D66 and EYU was at a high level. All deadlines and schedules were met, which is very important for an international event.

I highly recommend events from these organizations; I hope to participate in the next ones.\t<\/p>\t <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t
