block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tAls ervaringsdeskundige \u2014 Ed is zelf slechthorend \u2014 weet hij als geen ander waar de knelpunten zitten. Maar Ed kijkt verder dan het probleem; hij komt met oplossingen. Zo zette hij zich eind 2023 met Stichting Drempelvrij Hulst in om het WK Cross (Vestingcross) in onze eigen gemeente toegankelijk te maken voor iedereen.<br><br><strong>Wat dat concreet betekende?<\/strong><br>\ud83d\udc49 <strong>Live ondertiteling:<\/strong> Dankzij de inzet van schrijftolken op afstand konden doven en slechthorenden het commentaar van de wedstrijd live volgen op hun eigen telefoon. Geen woord van de spanning hoefde gemist te worden!<br>\ud83d\udc49 <strong>Rolstoelplaatsen met zicht:<\/strong> Geen weggestopte hoekjes, maar volwaardige plaatsen op goede locaties, inclusief de juiste ondersteuning.<br><br>Ed zegt hierover: <em>&#8220;Hopelijk komen er meer toegankelijke events in de Gemeente Hulst en daarbuiten. Inclusie is voor ons geen gunst, maar een recht.&#8221;<\/em><br><br>Dit is precies waarom we Ed in de gemeenteraad willen. Iemand die niet alleen praat over toegankelijkheid, maar de handen uit de mouwen steekt om drempels letterlijk en figuurlijk te slechten.
