D66 Hulst heeft als enige partij tegen dit voorstel gestemd. Raadslid Pieter de Bruijn kon niet akkoord gaan met een plan dat kwetsbare inwoners dwingt tot een onmogelijke keuze tussen mobiliteit en gezondheid, en waarbij kinderen de dupe dreigen te voegt verschillende regelingen samen in \u00e9\u00e9n budget van maximaal \u20ac250,- per jaar. Wat op papier wordt gepresenteerd als &#8220;effici\u00ebntie&#8221; en &#8220;ontschotting&#8221;, is in de ogen van D66 een verkapte bezuiniging die de bestaanszekerheid aantast.<br><br><strong>Succesvolle OV-pilot de nek omgedraaid<\/strong><br>D66 diende een amendement in om het gratis openbaar vervoer (het minimareisproduct) buiten deze regeling te houden. De recente pilot met gratis OV was namelijk &#8216;extreem positief&#8217; ge\u00ebvalueerd: het haalde mensen uit hun isolement en maakte solliciteren en familiebezoek weer mogelijk.<br><br>Pieter de Bruijn: <em>&#8220;Het college negeert met dit besluit het succes van de eigen pilot. Inwoners moeten straks van die krappe 250 euro kiezen: \u00f3f een busabonnement, \u00f3f lid blijven van de sportvereniging. Beide kan niet meer, daar is het budget te laag voor. De Cli\u00ebntenraad waarschuwde hier ook voor: mobiliteit en gezondheid zijn geen luxe-artikelen die je tegen elkaar moet wegstrepen. Het zijn basisvoorwaarden om mee te kunnen doen.&#8221;<\/em><br><br><strong>Kinderen betalen de rekening<\/strong><br>Een ander groot pijnpunt voor D66 is de uitsluiting van kinderen in de nieuwe regeling. Het college verwijst door naar Stichting Leergeld, maar gaat voorbij aan het feit dat Leergeld geen vergoeding biedt voor sociale uitjes zoals een schoolreis of een dagje weg.<br><br><em>&#8220;Waar de gemeente voorheen bijsprong voor een dagje uit of een schoolreisje, staan ouders nu met lege handen. Stichting Leergeld vergoedt dit niet. Wij vinden het onacceptabel dat kinderen in Hulst straks thuis moeten blijven omdat de gemeente de regels dichttimmert,&#8221;<\/em> aldus De Bruijn.<br><br><strong>Tegenstem<\/strong><br>Omdat het amendement van D66 \u2013 om het OV als basisrecht te behouden en de weeffout voor kinderen te repareren \u2013 werd verworpen door de coalitie, restte D66 geen andere keuze dan tegen het gehele raadsvoorstel te stemmen.<br>D66 Hulst blijft zich inzetten voor een inclusieve gemeente waar &#8216;meedoen&#8217; geen keuze is tussen de bus of de sportclub, maar een recht voor iedereen.
