Hierin wordt vastgelegd wat de belangrijkste uitgangspunten zijn voor hoe wij de fysieke leefomgeving van de stad tot en met 2040 gaan inrichten.<br><br>Er is niet over \u00e9\u00e9n nacht ijs gegaan. Er liggen vele onderzoeken en rapporten die beschrijven wat de uitdagingen zijn voor Hilversum. En inwoners hebben op verschillende momenten uitgebreid mee kunnen praten en denken. En ook de komende maanden kan dat nog. Maar eerst gaat de gemeenteraad een voorlopig oordeel geven over de concept-Omgevingsvisie.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tEen aantal dingen staan min of meer vast en er liggen een paar belangrijke keuzes voor. Vast staat bijvoorbeeld dat Hilversum de komende jaren verder zal groeien qua inwonersaantal. Er zullen woningen bijgebouwd moeten worden. Tot 2040 waarschijnlijk zo\u2019n 6.000. Die groei is nodig om er voor te zorgen dat Hilversum een bruisende stad blijft met voldoende goede scholen, goede zorgvoorzieningen en een levendige binnenstad. Daar zijn docenten, zorgmedewerkers en medewerkers in de horeca en retail voor nodig en die hebben een woning nodig. Vooral ook door de vergrijzing van de samenleving is het belangrijk om in de toekomst jonge mensen te binden aan de stad. Op de eerste plaats om in te spelen op klimaatverandering. Stijgende temperaturen leiden tot hittestress in de stad en hevigere regenbuien maken betere waterafvoer nodig. Maar groen is ook nodig om Hilversum prettig leefbaar te houden. We zullen ook grondig moeten kijken naar hoe wij er voor gaan zorgen dat een groeiend aantal Hilversummers zich in de toekomst door Hilversum kan verplaatsen. En iedere keuze heeft ook nadelen. Daar ontkom je niet aan. En tegelijkertijd moet je voldoende ruimte laten voor creatieve oplossingen. Een voorbeeld hier van is het beantwoorden van de vraag hoe stevig Hilversum vast wil houden aan het zogenaamde \u2018illusielandschap\u2019. Hiermee wordt bedoeld dat je vanaf de hei Hilversum niet ziet liggen. Behalve dan de Vituskerk en de zendmast. Tegelijkertijd legt deze regel enorme beperkingen op wanneer je kijkt naar de uitdagingen waar Hilversum voor staat. Er moet meer gebouwd worden \u00e9n er moet groen worden toegevoegd. En dat allemaal binnen een beperkte ruimte. Je gaat er niet aan ontkomen om op een aantal plekken, met name rondom treinstations, gebruik te maken van hoogte.<br>Betekent dit een automatische keuze v\u00f3\u00f3r hoogbouw? Nee. Het betekent vooral het open houden van zoveel mogelijk opties om kwalitatief goede woningen te bouwen die nodig zijn voor de toekomst van Hilversum en tegelijkertijd ruimte te maken voor meer groen in de stad. Het resultaat hiervan zou kunnen zijn dat in de toekomst naast de toren van de Vituskerk (sinds 1892) en de zendmast (sinds 1973) een enkel extra gebouw zichtbaar zal zijn vanaf de hei. Dit gaat wellicht in tegen het idee van het illusielandschap. Dat is de prijs. Net zoals iedere andere keuze een prijs heeft.
