Het herinnert aan de geallieerde vliegtuigbemanningen die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog verbonden zijn aan crashes in en rond Harderwijk. Een geschiedenis die bij onze stad hoort en die we goed willen blijven doorgeven.<br><br>Daarom hebben we schriftelijke vragen gesteld over de informatie bij het monument. Recenter historisch onderzoek van Stichting We Will Remember laat namelijk zien dat die informatie niet volledig is.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper Onderzoek van Stichting We Will Remember komt uit op 165 bemanningsleden die aan deze oorlogsgeschiedenis verbonden zijn.<br>Ons raadslid Marijn Star kwam dit verschil tegen in een gesprek met de stichting.<br><br>\u2018Steeds minder mensen hebben de Tweede Wereldoorlog zelf meegemaakt. Daarom wordt het alleen maar belangrijker dat we deze verhalen goed blijven vertellen en doorgeven aan volgende generaties.\u2019<br><br>We willen daarom dat wordt uitgezocht waar het verschil vandaan komt en dat de informatie waar nodig wordt aangepast. De vorm staat voor ons niet vast. Belangrijker is dat het verhaal klopt, zichtbaar is en ook voor volgende generaties toegankelijk blijft.<br><br>\u2018Als je bij het monument staat, moet je kunnen begrijpen wat er is gebeurd en wie de mensen zijn die we herdenken. Dit verhaal verdient een zichtbare plek\u2019, aldus Star.<br><br>Voor ons gaat dit over zorgvuldig omgaan met onze geschiedenis en met het verhaal van Harderwijk. Monumenten helpen om die geschiedenis levend te houden.
