De gemeente Haarlem maakt van die gelegenheid gebruik om deze weg tussen het Frederikspark en de Haarlemmerhout een metamorfose te geven. Met de nieuwe inrichting brengt de gemeente de historische uitstraling terug en komt er meer ruimte komt voor natuur, fietsers en voetgangers.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n van de Kleine Houtweg. Met dit ontwerp laat de gemeente Haarlem een lange-termijn visie zien voor een duurzame, leefbare en toegankelijke stad. De huidige dubbele rijbanen stammen uit de tijd, eind jaren vijftig, dat de stad werd heringericht op basis van een verwachte enorme groei in autobewegingen. Die verwachte groei is niet uitgekomen. Hierdoor verbetert de veiligheid van overstekende voetgangers en fietsers. Om alvast te ervaren hoeveel veiliger en prettiger de nieuwe inrichting zal zijn, kan je een over de nabijgelegen noordelijke Churchillaan fietsen. De inrichting van die straat, waar bewoners erg blij mee zijn, wordt doorgetrokken naar de Kleine Houtweg.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper  wrapper__spacing-bottom-large--30 wrapper__spacing-bottom-desktop--20  wrapper__gutter--none\"\n  >\n  \t<div class=\"wrapper__container wrapper__container-width-large--default\">\n\t  <div class=\"wrapper__inner wrapper__width-large--24 wrapper__width-mobile--24\">\n\t\t<p\n\t\tclass=\"paragraph paragraph__align--left paragraph__color--black paragraph__size--default   block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tEr is in het definitief ontwerp zoveel mogelijk rekening gehouden met de belangen van verschillende omwonenden. Zo zijn er drempels en aparte opstelstroken voor fietsers toegevoegd. Er zijn extra tellingen verricht om een nog betere inschatting te maken van verkeersdruk. Natuurlijk blijven er altijd weggebruikers, omwonenden en ondernemers zijn die nadelen zullen ondervinden van de herinrichting. Als raadsleden zullen we met hen in contact blijven om samen naar oplossingen te zoeken.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper  wrapper__spacing-bottom-large--30 wrapper__spacing-bottom-desktop--20  wrapper__gutter--none\"\n  >\n  \t<div class=\"wrapper__container wrapper__container-width-large--default\">\n\t  <div class=\"wrapper__inner wrapper__width-large--24 wrapper__width-mobile--24\">\n\t\t<p\n\t\tclass=\"paragraph paragraph__align--left paragraph__color--black paragraph__size--default   block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tKortom, we herstellen de historische uitstraling van de straat, maar wel passend bij de behoeften en eisen van vandaag.
