Voorstellen waarmee we meer ruimte maken om grote woningen in Haarlem te splitsen naar appartementen. En onze huizen zijn groot. Maar onze huishoudens worden steeds kleiner. In diverse publicaties is onderbouwd dat het splitsen van bestaande woningen een belangrijke bijdrage kan leveren aan het verkleinen van de woningnood in Nederland.\u00a0<br><br>Door een woning te splitsen maak je van een huis meerdere appartementen. Meer zelfstandige woningen dus. Het is een snelle en duurzame manier om woningen toe te voegen. Zonder het groen vol te bouwen. Tot nu toe was de regel dat bij het splitsen van woningen naar appartementen altijd \u00e9\u00e9n appartement minimaal 80 vierkante meter groot moet zijn. En de rest van de appartementen minimaal 50 vierkante meter.\u00a0<br><br>Met splitsen maken we ruimte voor het toenemende aantal \u00e9\u00e9n- en tweepersoons huishoudens in Haarlem. Juist voor die groep is het vreemd om voor te schrijven dat gesplitste woningen minimaal 80 vierkante meter groot moeten zijn. Daarom stelde D66 voor de eis van 80 vierkante meter uit de regels te schrappen. We zijn blij dat ons <a href=\"https:\/\/gemeentebestuur-haarlem.notubiz.nl\/document\/16408695\/1\/22_02+Amendement+Slimmer+splitsen+D66+AP+VVD+CU+HvH+OPH+Trots+Haarlem?connection_type=17&amp;connection_id=12769141\">voorstel <\/a>het gehaald heeft.<br><br>Natuurlijk hebben we ook woningen nodig in Haarlem die groter zijn dat 50 vierkante meter. Voor alle gezinnen in Haarlem. Daarom beschermen de Haarlemse regels alle woningen tot 140 vierkante meter. Omdat de gemeentelijke regels in 2019 zijn aangepast en niet alle pandeigenaren de zaken toen netjes geregeld hebben. Het gaat om appartementen die al jaren bewoond worden. De motie roept het college op om maatwerk te leveren in situaties waar al jaren zonder problemen gewoond wordt en waar de verbouwing destijds netjes met een bouwvergunning geregeld is.
