Keuzes over wonen, leefbaarheid, voorzieningen, mobiliteit en de groei van onze stad. Dit zijn geen technische details, maar fundamentele keuzes die grote invloed hebben op onze gemeente en op het leven van Goesenaren. De opbrengsten daarvan worden vervolgens verwerkt in verschillende beleidsplannen, maar niet meer in de visie Goes 2050 zelf. Daarmee staat de richting al vast voordat inwoners hun stem hebben kunnen laten horen.<br>\u00a0<br>Wij geloven niet in plannen die eerst worden gemaakt en daarna worden \u201cuitgelegd\u201d. Echte participatie betekent dat inwoners vanaf het begin mee kunnen denken, mee kunnen praten en daadwerkelijk invloed hebben op het eindresultaat.<br>\u00a0<br>Samen met PvdA-GroenLinks hebben wij daarom een amendement ingediend om dit te corrigeren: stel de visie pas definitief vast na een zorgvuldig participatietraject, in de vorm van een versie 2 van Goes 2050. Dit amendement is helaas verworpen.<br>\u00a0<br>Daardoor werd de gemeenteraad gevraagd akkoord te gaan met een toekomstvisie met ingrijpende keuzes, waar inwoners van Goes niet over hebben kunnen meepraten. Dat is voor ons geen slogan, maar een uitgangspunt.
