Maar met veel verschillende belangen staat de kwaliteit van ons buitengebied onder grote druk. Stukje bij beetje wordt het kenmerkende coulisselandschap rond Enschede volgebouwd. Niemand wil het, toch gebeurt het sluipenderwijs. block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tEen voorbeeld van dat volbouwen is het plan dat in de maak is voor Erve \u2019t Kromhof, aan de Heutinkstraat. Momenteel eigendom van een vermogensbeheerder, als onderdeel van een grotere vastgoedportefeuille. Het is de bedoeling om het bouwvallige erf te bebouwen met elf luxe wooneenheden, om zo maximaal rendement uit die investering te halen. Verschillende partijen, BBE en CDA voorop, zetten hierbij vol in op de dialoog tussen omwonenden en initiatiefnemer om de zorgen die er leven weg te nemen. Het siert deze partijen dat ze het voortouw nemen om het gesprek tussen bewoners te bevorderen. Zo ontstaat wederzijds begrip. Het lijkt erop dat als omwonenden en initiatiefnemer er met elkaar uitkomen, een meerderheid van de raad de plannen zal steunen. Maar er wordt vergeten te kijken naar wat de optelsom van al deze ontwikkelingen is. Per saldo wordt het buitengebied steeds voller en verliest het sluipenderwijs haar karakter en waarde.
