democratische verkozen volksvertegenwoordigers uit 47 verschillende landen. De PACE komt vier keer per jaar bijeen in Straatsburg. De Nederlandse delegatie kent 7 leden en 7 plaatsvervangende leden. Petra Stienen is de Nederlandse delegatieleider. Ze is onder andere lid van de commissie Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons. Deze commissie werkt momenteel aan het rapport over Gender Mainstreaming of Migration Policies. De focus van het rapport ligt op gender mainstreaming van migratiebeleid. Hierdoor kan migratiebeleid onbewust en onbedoeld bijdragen tot verslechtering van de kwetsbare situatie van vrouwen. Vaak is er ook geen aandacht in migratiebeleid voor het verschil van behoeften in bijvoorbeeld medische zorg van vrouwen en meisjes. Meer onderzoek zou in de toekomst kunnen leiden tot een effectievere aanpak van migratie waarin de gendercomponent een belangrijke rol krijgt.
