Maar helaas zijn veel fietsroutes nog steeds onveilig door onoverzichtelijke kruispunten, smalle fietspaden en hardrijdend verkeer. D66 Ede vindt dat iedere leerling veilig van en naar school moet kunnen fietsen. block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tD66 Ede heeft al twee moties ingediend en aangenomen gekregen om veilige schoolroutes de norm te maken en om een uitvoeringsprogramma op te stellen voor verbeteringen.<br><br>In maart 2023 heeft de raad ingestemd met een D66-motie om veilige schoolroutes als norm te hanteren, zodat kinderen vanaf 8 jaar zelfstandig en veilig naar school kunnen fietsen. D66 vraagt nu: wat is er sindsdien concreet veranderd? En hoe zien we dit terug in het beleid?<br><br>In november 2024 werd opnieuw een motie aangenomen, dit keer om de 29 knelpunten die door 19 scholen zijn aangedragen daadwerkelijk aan te pakken. Op de Berg starten drie scholen (Calluna, Louise de Coligny en Koning David) volgende week met de eerste schoolslinger van Nederland. Kinderen lopen begeleid door ouders en kunnen onderweg aansluiten. D66 moedigt dit initiatief aan en vraagt het college om ondersteuning te bieden.<br>Daarnaast zien wij kansen om een fietsvariant van de schoolslinger te ontwikkelen en deze gemeente breed in te zetten.
