Wonen is een sociaal grondrecht. We werken samen met bewoners en woningcorporaties aan levendige buurten, met groen, winkels en speelplekken waar je elkaar ontmoet. We bouwen met het oog op de lange termijn \u2013 tot ver na 2036 omdat ook toekomstige generaties een fijn thuis verdienen.<br><br>De realiteit is dat het vinden van een (duurzame) woning steeds moeilijker is. Ook in Doetinchem, Gaanderen en Wehl laat het huizentekort zich voelen. Huizen zijn onbetaalbaar, jongeren wachten jaren op hun eerste eigen plek en oudere mensen kunnen geen geschikte woning vinden. Dat is oneerlijk. Wij bouwen 2.500 nieuwe woningen, nabij voorzieningen en in een groene omgeving. Wij zetten in op meer betaalbare woonruimte &#8211; van sociale huur tot koopwoningen. Die eis wordt een voorwaarde voor een omgevingsvergunning, waarbij we afspraken vastleggen tegen maatschappelijke prijzen. Deze versnelling wordt niet gevonden in het bouwproces, maar in het voortraject. Daarvoor zijn duidelijke bestuurlijke keuzes en heldere kaders en planning nodig. D66 wil dat dit niet alleen ligt bij initiatiefnemers, maar veel meer ook bij de gemeente zelf. De transformatie van de spoorzone vinden we daarin een goed voorbeeld. Verder zien we dat verdichten van het ei en de stadsschil nieuwe woningen oplevert en dat we kantoren kunnen herbestemmen en aan de Oude IJssel en aan stads- en dorpsranden nieuwe woningen kunnen bouwen.
