\n\t\t\n\t\tGeorge Marshall<\/strong>\u00a0will argue that broad based public engagement, though consistently overlooked and underfunded, is an essential aspect of climate policy. Drawing on 20 years of experience and a large body of international research and case studies, he argues that the principles of engagement are well understood but they must now be implemented at scale if we are to reach our climate targets.

George Marshall<\/strong>\u00a0is one of Europe\u2019s leading specialists in climate change communication and is the founder of the Oxford based Climate Outreach. (www.climateoutreach.org<\/a>) with partners and clients including the World Bank, IPCC, UN, over 20 universities, most major environmental organisations, and 17 governments. George has led large research projects in India, Canada, Australia and across North Africa and is the author of the book\u00a0\u2018Don’t Even Think About It: Why our Brains are Wired to Ignore Climate Change\u2019<\/a><\/em>\u00a0about our complex psychological responses to climate change. The Guardian called it \u201cthe most important book published on climate change in the past few years\u201d and Esquire magazine rated it one of the\u00a015 all time \u201cessential books\u201d<\/a>\u00a0on climate change.


D66 Climate Talks are organised by the Working Group for Climate and Energy and the Delft Working Group for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in association with the TA Duurzaam. This talk will be introduced by Thomas Peutz, chair of the Delft Working Group and followed by a Q&A.
