Ik raakte daardoor in gesprek met iemand die haar hond uitliet. Wat wonen we toch in een mooie omgeving, zei ik. Absoluut, zei ze. Mijn zoon van 27 woont in Utrecht en zou wel weer naar Odijk willen. Maar ja, kom er maar eens tussen. Voor de Rozelaar waar 12 sociale huurappartementen worden gebouwd waren 1100 gegadigden. Dus deelt hij voorlopig nog wel even een woning in Utrecht. Hij kan als alleenstaande geen kant op en wordt er soms haast depressief van.\t<\/p>\t  <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div\n  id=\"\"\n  class=\"wrapper  wrapper__spacing-bottom-large--30 vlak nog wel wat te doen, zei ik. In Odijk-West proberen we echt woningen te bouwen voor starters, maar ook voor senioren, om hen een alternatief te bieden voor hun grote eengezinswoning. &#8220;Nou, zeg dat wel. Bij ons in de straat wonen verschillende oude mensen helemaal alleen in zo\u2019n groot huis&#8221;, zei de hondenuitlaatster.\u00a0 Dat bedoel ik, antwoordde ik. Voorlopig hebben we nog genoeg werk aan de winkel. Bedoelt u nu dat u bij de gemeente werkt, vroeg ze terwijl ze haar zonnebril afnam om me wat beter te bekijken.<br><br>&#8220;Ik ben wethouder hier in Bunnik&#8221;, intern gniffelend dat de lokale bekendheid nog te wensen overlaat, ondanks dat ik hier al 36 jaar woon en mijn foto regelmatig in het Groentje staat.\u00a0 &#8220;De nieuwbouw in Odijk-West is mijn verantwoordelijkheid&#8221;, vertelde ik. Maar voor de eerste nieuwe huizen er staan, zijn we wel twee jaar verder. Nieuwbouwprojecten duren nu eenmaal erg lang voor je alle plannen goed uitgedacht hebt. We zetten er per slot van rekening een half dorp bij. Daar moet je wel even goed over nadenken.<br><br>&#8220;Oh, maar dat snap ik&#8221;, zei ze.\u00a0 Voor je iedereen op een lijn hebt, dat kost tijd. Maar, zei ze, in Utrecht en ook in Houten bouwen ze oude kantoren om tot woningen en op zo\u2019n manier dat jong en oud elkaar kan helpen. Gaat dat niet sneller? Dat willen wij in Bunnik proberen bij het station, zei ik. Daar willen we wonen en werken combineren en juist voor jonge mensen die zo op de trein kunnen stappen. In Odijk-West &#8211; inmiddels bekend onder de naam Kersenweide &#8211; gaan we 1.200 woningen bouwen waarvan 66% in het betaalbare segment: 300 sociale huurwoningen en 500 middeldure huur- en koopwoningen. Het echte gat op de woningmarkt zit immers in de middencategorie. Voor mensen die door willen stromen vanuit een sociale huurwoning of net te veel verdienen om \u00fcberhaupt voor een sociale huurwoning in aanmerking te komen, is er geen alternatief. Juist in het middensegment zijn extra woningen nodig en we moeten er alles aan doen om ze ook voor de middengroepen betaalbaar te houden. In Bunnik wordt een verouderd bedrijventerrein omgezet in een gebied waar je kunt wonen en kunt werken. Daar komen op den duur 500 woningen. We hechten in Bunnik aan ons dorps karakter, maar dat kan wat ons betreft best samengaan met hoogbouwaccenten. Hek erom, hier en daar nog een boom en klaar is Kees. Daar denkt D66 anders over. De krapte op de woningmarkt is enorm en aan het oplossen daarvan willen we echt bijdragen. De gemeente ligt uitstekend ten opzichte van het openbaar vervoer. Odijk-West ligt op 5 tot 10 minuten fietsen van 3 stations. Tot 2040 zien we ruimte voor circa 5.000 woningen. Dat moeten dan wel woningen zijn die aansluiten de behoefte, wat niet noodzakelijk hetzelfde is als de vraag, omdat de vraag naar dure koopwoningen onuitputtelijk lijkt op dit moment. Het moeten woningen zijn voor starters, doorstromers en empty nesters. Voor die doelgroepen hebben we appartementen van eenvoudig tot luxe, gezamenlijke woonvormen en betaalbare gezinswoningen nodig.<br><br>Zo komt de doorstroming op gang, komt er beweging in de woningmarkt en kunnen meer mensen genieten van het prachtige Kromme Rijngebied. De dorpen zullen door de toevoeging van woningen veranderen, maar we stellen zo ook onze voorzieningen veilig.
