Dat vindt D66 in de gemeenteraad. Raadslid Joris Brandts: \u201cHet college moet zich inspannen om de huidige verbindingen voor Arnhem te behouden \u00e9n nieuwe internationale verbindingen binnen te halen.\u201d Brandts stelde Zo konden bomvolle Duitse hogesnelheidstreinen soms niet stoppen in Arnhem en greep ons station naast een snelle treinverbinding naar Berlijn. Daarnaast wordt er de komende jaren volop gewerkt aan de Duitse zijde van het spoor. Het treinverkeer richting het Ruhrgebied zal daar veel hinder van ondervinden. Brandts: \u201cWe hebben een fantastisch mooi nieuw station dat volledig is ingericht op internationaal treinverkeer. Arnhem is bovendien d\u00e9 opstapplaats van Oost-Nederland. Je bent vanuit Arnhem in een paar uur in het zuiden van Duitsland.
