De verkeersveiligheid is verbeterd, de nood- en hulpdiensten halen hun aanrijtijden en het ov heeft minder vertraging dan verwacht. De eerste resultaten zijn dus positief. Van der Horst: \u201c30 rijden doen we voor meer verkeersveiligheid en we zien nu dat het werkt. Het duurt vaak een tijd voor alle verkeersdeelnemers gewend zijn: in Brussel zag je bijvoorbeeld in de eerste drie jaar de snelheid steeds verder afnemen. Dus ik vind het hoopgevend dat we na een jaar op de nieuwe 30-wegen al minder ongelukken hebben met motorvoertuigen. block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tOp de nieuwe 30-wegen is het afgelopen jaar het aantal ongelukken met ruim 10% afgenomen, naar 823. Ook zijn er in totaal minder ongelukken met een motorvoertuig. Het aantal ongelukken met bussen en trams is ook afgenomen. Terwijl zij nog wel vaak 50 km\/u mogen, waarvan de vrees was dat dit tot meer onveiligheid zou leiden. Dat blijkt niet uit de eerste evaluatie. Het verkeersgeluid is ook afgenomen na de invoering van de nieuwe regel. De scepsis bij de invoering van de maatregel is weggenomen bij de Amsterdammer. Want mensen moeten eerst wennen aan de maatregel, dat duurt een tijdje. Van Brussel &#8211; waar ze ook 30 km\/u invoerde &#8211; leren we dat in de eerste drie jaar de snelheid steeds verder afneemt. Ook de gevreesde negatieve effecten vallen mee. Zo halen de nood- en hulpdiensten nog steeds hun aanrijtijden, blijkt uit een analyse van 8.000 brandweer- en 50.000 ambulanceritten. Daarbij is de reistijd in het ov is veel minder toegenomen dan verwacht. De bus doet er 40 seconden langer over en de tram 10 seconden. De pilot van het OM voor flitspalen wordt doorgezet, een flitspaal resulteerde in 20% minder snelheid.
