Dit kwalitatief onderzoek is gedaan onder gemeenteambtenaren van zes gemeenten, waar signalen blijken van institutioneel racisme. En uiteraard: Amersfoort is in shock. Want ook Amersfoort was een van die zes gemeenten. Als stad die altijd werkt aan een inclusieve stad (en werknemer) ga je niet uit van dit soort signalen vanuit de werkvloer. Of verbaast het ons niet? Sluit je niet juist de ogen als je zou zeggen dat dit ondenkbaar is \u2018in onze organisatie\u2019? block-paragraph__paragraph\"\n\t\t\t>\n\t\tDe uitkomsten van het onderzoek door Kennisplatform Inclusief Samenwerken (KIS) zijn schrikbarend te noemen. Procedures en regels binnen gemeentelijke organisaties blijken discriminatie en racisme in de hand te werken, valt in het rapport te lezen. Dat geldt ook voor het sociaal ingesleten gedrag van ambtenaren. Een geschiedenis over een beladen woord, waar sommigen nog steeds niet overtuigd zijn van de negatieve connotatie (gevoelswaarde) van het woord. Het Van Dale-woordenboek spreekt nog van &#8216;Met kolonialisme, uitbuiting en slavernij geassocieerde en daarom door een groeiend aantal mensen als minachtend ervaren term.\u2019. Maar &#8216;geassocieerd&#8217; komt nogal vrijblijvend over.\u00a0Het\u00a0woord is onlosmakelijk verbonden met uitbuiting en slavernij. Zo helder kunnen we ook zijn over institutioneel racisme; daar is sprake van binnen de zes gemeenten uit het onderzoek en daarmee dus ook in onze gemeente. En dat dit rapport emoties oproept, vind ik logisch, maar dan maar direct, dezelfde dag aan \u2018naming &amp; shaming\u2019 doen, heeft geen enkele zin. Als er iemand baalt en dagelijks bezig is met dit soort zaken bestrijden, dan is het de wethouder. Een wethouder die racisme verre van haar werpt en continu op de bres springt als er niet inclusief gedacht wordt. Het is ook de wethouder en de gemeente die direct hebben besloten om dit rapport te delen met de gemeenteraad en de stad. In het onderzoek zijn zes gemeenten onderzocht. Het is niet bekend welke gemeenten dit naast Amersfoort en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amsterdam.nl\/nieuws\/nieuwsoverzicht\/onderzoek-discriminatie-racisme\/\">Amsterdam<\/a> zijn. De gemeente heeft dus goed gehandeld door dit rapport direct naar buiten te brengen. Er staat ook al veel op papier over inclusiviteit en het tegengaan van racisme. Alleen blijft het belangrijk niet te rusten bij een papieren werkelijkheid. En daarom belangrijk om te melden: partijen als DENK, GroenLinks en D66 houden de gemeente al jaren scherp als het gaat om het voorkomen van discriminatie en racisme, zowel als werkgever als gemeente. Diversiteit in een organisatie is van groot belang voor het goed functioneren ervan. Juist het bij elkaar brengen van verschillende inzichten en ervaringen, brengt de gemeente bij betere oplossingen en idee\u00ebn voor de maatschappelijke opgaven waar ze voor staan. Om die reden is het werken aan een inclusieve samenleving \u00e9n organisatie een belangrijk punt in ons coalitieakkoord. Leren kan alleen door ook pijnlijke ervaringen, zoals ook te lezen in het rapport, in de openheid met elkaar te delen. De onvrede over de resultaten van dit rapport deel ik, maar ik wil iedereen ook vragen: laten we dit, zonder haast, zeer gedegen aanpakken.
